At the beginning of 2024, Doug Glisson decided it was time to make a change. 

His goal was to lose fat , reveal his abs, and maintain muscle mass. 

"I decided to take on the New Year’s Shred Challenge [which utlized the Shortcut to Shred program]," Doug says. "I knew it would be tough, but I felt prepared with the right tools— JYM supplements , a high protein diet, and Dr. Stoppani’s meal plans and routines." 

Finding Success in the New Year’s Shred Challenge

For Doug, consistency was the linchpin. "The key to my success was staying consistent with my diet," he says. "Gradually cutting carbs each week, as Dr. Stoppani recommends, allowed me to steadily shed fat while keeping my muscle intact." 

Doug focused on both fat loss and muscle preservation, sticking to his high-protein intake even during a caloric deficit. His discipline with his diet and workouts paid off, and in just 6 weeks, he lost 21 pounds, dropped a pants size, and saw his abs starting to show. 

"The results were amazing. My body composition changed dramatically," he says. 

The Importance of the Right Tools  

One of Doug's most valuable takeaways from his journey was the power of cardioacceleration

"Cardioacceleration was an awesome tool for fat loss, and it’s something I will never stop doing now that I’ve seen the results." 

Cardioacceleration, a HIIT workout staple of Dr. Stoppani’s training programs, involves performing cardio intervals between strength-training sets. The extra fat-burning power of this method was a game-changer for Doug's transformation.

"The transformation process wasn't easy, but it was worth it," he says. "I had to cook my own food when the family was eating something different, and I meticulously tracked everything. But when the results came, my family started doing the same thing!" 

What's Next for Doug: More Gains and Continued Discipline

Doug’s journey isn’t over. He’s already setting his sights on his next goal.

"I’m planning to follow the Muscle Mayhem program to build more muscle and strength," he says. After that, he intends to return to the Shortcut to Shred program to continue refining his physique. 

Doug emphasizes that the key to long-term success is not just about hitting the gym—it's about finishing what you start.

"One thing I’ll tell anyone following Dr. Stoppani's programs is this: be consistent and finish," Doug advises. "The best results for me always came in the final two weeks of the program."

Doug's transformation has been about more than just physical changes; it's about building a sustainable fitness lifestyle. 

"It’s not just about losing weight,” he says. “It’s about finding a routine that works for me, and I’m excited to see where the next few months take me."
