July 19th, 2017, was a day that would change my life. I stepped on the scale for the first time in ages.

Just three years before, I was 258 pounds and running 5K and 10K races on a regular basis. But in that short amount of time, my weight increased to 365 pounds. I was freaked out, to say the least.

My blood pressure was high for the first time in my life — 150 over 115. I knew I had to change my lifestyle – not just for myself, but for my family. I needed to be here for my wife and kids.

The first step was changing what I was eating and drinking. I was eating somewhere between 4,000 and 6,000 calories and drinking four to eight sodas a day. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I stopped drinking all soda and switched to drinking nothing but water and unsweetened iced tea.

I then started tracking all the food I ate daily, and I started limiting my calories to 2,000 per day. At this point, I didn’t fully understand managing macros, but it was a start.

Next, I started working out. The first time I walked into the gym I was completely lost. I had no idea where to start or how to develop a routine. After a few weeks, I found a friend at work who took me under his wing and started working out with me and showing me around the gym.

Then, after a while, he introduced me to Dr. Jim Stoppani and JYM Supplement Science. I bought a copy of Jim Stoppani's Encyclopedia of Muscle & Strength and started learning all I could about how to get the most out of my training.

After losing 52 pounds in three months, I started my first program – Shortcut to Size – in October of 2017. In the 12 weeks it took me to complete the program, I lost an additional 23 pounds and lost more than eight inches off my waist.

Thrilled with my progress with not just weight loss but in my gains in strength, I set out the next week and started Shortcut to Shred. With Shortcut to Shred, I lost another 21 pounds and another four inches off my waist!

At first, I was hesitant to use supplements, as I always had a stigma in my head that it wasn’t natural, wasn’t healthy, wasn’t safe, or many other things I had heard over the years.

But after joining the JYM Army and reading everyone’s stories, and watching Jim himself explain the science behind JYM Supplements, I started using Pre JYM, Pro JYM, and Post JYM as part of my daily routine.

It changed everything. My workouts progressed in every way. I started lifting more weight, training longer and faster. My endurance and stamina went way up. My frame of mind changed on nutrition, supplementation, and training.

Since that day in July 2017, I have lost a total of 103.6 pounds and 14 inches; size 54 pants down to size 40; my cholesterol is normal; and my blood pressure is around 110 over 70!

I work out five times a week and live a much more active life with my family on the weekends. I started kayaking, playing basketball, and getting outdoors with my kids.

When people ask me what I’m doing and how they can do it, I tell them I did it with hard work and changing my mindset on nutrition. I then tell them how having a support group like the JYM Army, friends, and family is key.

My wife has lost 51 pounds alongside me, and I’ve had so many people say they’ve started doing something because I’ve inspired them. My life has changed and I couldn’t have done it without the JYM Army and JYM Supplements.
