Better training habits, better food, and better supplements helped him turn his life around 360 degrees.

At the age of 37, I decided that I couldn't live this lifestyle anymore — unhealthy, out of shape, not caring what I ate and when I ate it.

Not many people know about this, including my wife, but anger and depression ran my life. It had a chokehold on me and I didn't know how to control it. I tried several times to diet, but was unsuccessful.

In 2016, I tried eating right and lost 35 pounds, but by the end of the year I had put it all back on and then some. But this time I had enough, and on February 20, 2017, my life was changed forever. My best friend introduced me to Jim Stoppani and the JYM Army.

I weighed in at 259 pounds, and over the course of the next nine months I had dropped 85 pounds. In the following two months, I added around five pounds of muscle mass while still maintaining body-fat loss. Over time, I've increased my weights on bench press, squat, and deadlift, just to name a few. I lost enough weight to equal the size of a small person and gained a solid core. In the eyes of others, I was a completely different person.

In the beginning, I was doing my own thing, training the way I thought was the right way to do it. At the time, I was just a lurker, but once I started to do the research, I figured out what I was doing wrong.

So far, I have successfully completed Shortcut to Shred, Shortcut to Size, and Show Time – and I joined my first challenge, Ripped in 6, which was a blast.

Following Dieting 101 was my first step in the right direction, combined with intermittent fasting, carb cycling, and pretty much the entire JYM line of supplements.

I had big dreams and I wanted to be healthy. I didn't want to be that fat guy who couldn't do anything, like enjoy his kids or grandkids. On top of that, I was borderline diabetic and had signs of rheumatoid arthritis. I had the full support from my wife, who has joined me on this fitness journey.

The biggest key to my success was to not treat this like some sort of diet plan, but as a lifestyle change. If you don't change your life around, you may not succeed. I was a big eater. For me, trying to control what I ate and how I ate was a huge obstacle for me to overcome. Food controlled my life — I didn't know how to give it up.

Fast-forward to almost one year in the making, and I feel like a different person. I'm happy, I smile a lot more, and friends and family almost don't recognize me, which is kind of a good feeling.

I would like to tell anyone out there who has no hope and feels like they can never change — you are wrong! If you put in the work and trust the system, you can achieve goals beyond your dreams.

Join a small group for accountability; if it hadn't been for my wife or my Misfits pushing, I may not have had the success I've had and wouldn't be here to tell you this story.

I also want to give special thanks to Dr. Jim Stoppani and Mike Mac. Without them, we wouldn't have this wonderful JYM Army group or the proper line of supplements.
