The shift started when Kyle got his health where it needed to be. After dealing with medical issues and optimizing his testosterone levels, the effort he’d been putting in finally started producing results.
“My energy improved, my recovery improved, and my ability to actually progress finally matched the effort I was putting in,” he says.
A big part of that progress came from simplifying his approach. “I lived by the ‘boring is simple and fast’ mindset,” Kyle says.
His meals stayed consistent: ground turkey, rice, sweet potatoes, spinach, quality carbs, with a steady focus on high protein intake. “I prioritized 1.5 to 2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight daily because consistency beats complexity every time,” he says.

“By April 19, 2026, I had dropped to 11.2% body fat, reduced my visceral fat level from 8 to 3, cut my body fat mass nearly in half to just 20.1 pounds, and built my skeletal muscle mass up to 108.4 pounds while weighing 180 pounds,” he says. “This wasn’t just weight loss. This was a complete body recomposition and a shift from just working out to truly mastering bodybuilding.”
What separated Kyle during the Challenge—and in the time leading up to it—was his ability to stay consistent when things got difficult.
That meant early mornings for cardio, passing on nights out, and sticking to the plan when it would’ve been easier not to. It also meant working through injuries.
“Years of military service put real wear and tear on my body,” he says. “Muscle and skeletal injuries could have easily slowed or stopped me.”
Instead, they forced him to adapt.
