The Six-Week Program That Helped One Stay-at-Home Dad Reclaim His Confidence

From excuses and self-doubt to discipline and drive, Shane Bright committed to the HIIT 100 workout and nutrition plan and completely changed his life.

The Six-Week Program That Helped One Stay-at-Home Dad Reclaim His Confidence

A few years back, when Covid reshaped everything, Shane Bright stepped away from his manufacturing job so he and his wife wouldn’t have to send their three kids to daycare. It was the right call: “Raising three kids presented many challenges, but it was rewarding and gave me memories I will forever have,” Shane says

But it came with a personal cost.

“One of the biggest challenges it presented was myself,” Shane says. “I thought being a stay-at-home dad was frowned upon by society. It slowly deflated my self-esteem. I had lost all confidence in myself.”

He tried to get back into lifting—building out a garage gym—but excuses piled up: kids’ practices, late nights, chores, fatigue. “It was easy to find an excuse,” Shane says. Before long, the garage was half workout space, half storage.

A One-Minute Wake-Up Call on the Wrestling Mat

Shane’s turning point arrived when he volunteered to help coach his son’s youth wrestling team. One day, an older athlete needed a partner about his size. Shane stepped in expecting a short drill.

“One minute was all that I could practice without feeling like I was going to pass out,” he says. “I needed 30 minutes to recover.”

That moment hit hard. He’d always enjoyed lifting—especially in high school and during college—but over time he let his own justifications get in the way. Coaching young athletes year-round got him thinking differently. Watching kids grow stronger each season pushed him to reassess his own habits.

“I thought to myself, If I am going to take this on, I need to practice what I preach,.” Shane says.

That’s when he found Jim Stoppani’s HIIT 100 Challenge .

Jumping Into HIIT 100 With a Family-Fueled Mindset

Shane scheduled the challenge, ordered his JYM supplements , and dug into the HIIT 100 program. At 196 pounds, he based his nutrition plan on his goal weight of 185—then committed to executing the plan exactly as written.

With his workouts and meals completely mapped out, “the only thing on my mind was staying committed,” he says.

Shane’s 3-year-old daughter joined him in the garage for every workout, dancing around to music and even mimicking some of the movements. “There were times she would try to mimic the crunches and reverse crunches,” he says.

That became a deeper source of motivation: “This motivated me even more to stay the course to live a healthier life for my family,” Shane says.

Leaning Into the Routine: Training, Nutrition, and the JYM System

Week 1 delivered the expected soreness. “I was so sore and looked forward to the rest day,” Shane says. But the early progress photos told the truth: HIIT 100 was working fast.

The soreness became manageable, the routine locked in, and the daily momentum started to compound.

Shane’s supplement stack included Pro JYM , SS8 Advanced Fat Burner , Post JYM BCAAs+ Recovery Matrix , Post JYM carbs , and Pre JYM Plus , along with 15-minute steam sauna sessions after training.

“The SS8 fat burner was amazing,” he says. “It helped curb my appetite and gave me tons of energy.”

A Six-Week Shift: Fat Down, Muscle Up, Confidence Restored

In six weeks—at age 35—Shane dropped 14 pounds, added noticeable muscle, and shattered some long-held assumptions.

“I think the myth of it being hard to gain muscle while losing fat is busted,” he says. “That’s exactly what HIIT 100 did for me.”

But the biggest win wasn’t physical. “I am most proud that I gained my confidence back,” Shane says. “I can look in the mirror and be happy again.”

Now, he feels better equipped to guide the young athletes he works with. “I can help our local youth programs by being a visual example of what being committed while working hard and maintaining a proper nutritional intake can do for others.”

Next on deck: four weeks of Muscle Mayhem , then either another round of HIIT 100 or Shortcut to Shred . Through it all, Shane remains grateful for the community surrounding him.

“The JYM Army has been critical to the results I achieved, and I’m beyond thankful to be a part of it,” he says. “I look forward to helping others achieve goals set out for themselves!”
