For years, Vito Adamo had dabbled in workouts and diets without ever fully committing.

“I had entered a lot of challenges, but never finished them,” he says. “I have a bunch of before pictures, but never any after photos.”

That all changed in November 2024.

Motivated by a workplace weight-loss challenge and an upcoming trip to Italy, Vito decided it was time to take control. At the time, his body fat was hovering around 25–30%. By making simple but consistent changes—limiting meals out and increasing his protein intake—he dropped 10 pounds. “It was a simple start, but it worked,” he says.

From there, momentum carried him into the New Year’s Challenge, which he completed for the first time ever.

Shortcut to Shred is my favorite program,” Vito says. “It was the first Jim Stoppani program I was introduced to about five years ago.”

Finally, he’d produce the “after” photo he wanted.

Tracking, Protein, and Progress

This time around, Vito leaned into structure: tracking macros, hitting his daily protein target, and cutting back on processed foods (though not eliminating them completely). “I love a good cheat meal that fits into my nutrition plan,” he says.

The consistency paid off. “I’ve lost about 30 pounds since the beginning of 2025 and my body fat dropped to about 12–15%,” he says.

Supplements became another cornerstone. Vito takes Pro JYM (“Tahitian Vanilla is my favorite, then Chocolate Peanut Butter,” he says), along with Pre JYM Plus , Omega JYM , and ZMA JYM daily.

Discipline Over Perfection

As a leader at a large aerospace manufacturing company, Vito’s long work hours meant that finding time for himself wasn’t easy.

The solution? Early mornings. “In order to stay consistent with my workouts, I get them done first thing in the morning,” he says.

“A crappy workout is still better than sitting around doing nothing.”

Nutrition required the same level of discipline. “I started tracking all my food consistently—200 grams of protein a day would be impossible if I didn’t track and plan for it,” he says.

The hardest part, he admits, wasn’t the workouts or the food. “The hardest part about transforming myself was developing the discipline I needed to keep going,” Vito says.

Advice to Others

Virto’s message for anyone hesitant to start a program or challenge is simple:

“Just do it. Start. Do it shitty until it gets easier and you get used to it,” he says. “I always hesitated because I wanted it to be just right and get these amazing overnight results, but I’ve really seen progress by showing up every day. A crappy workout is still better than sitting around doing nothing.”

For Vito, the changes go beyond physique.

“I’m a JYM Army member for life,” he says. “The tools, techniques, and products that Dr. Stoppani stands behind have raised my quality of life dramatically.”
