By now most of you are well aware of what "toning" shoes are.

You know, those those rounded-bottom shoes that women and even men are wobbling around on to hopefully burn more calories and use more muscle fibers when they walk. And while I'm sure you've been as skeptical about them as I have, you probably still have wondered, "can those shoes really help you burn more calories and use more muscle?"

A recent study presented at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine can answer that question.
